Grapefruit Brulee
Grapefruit Brûlée is a simple yet elegant dish that transforms fresh grapefruit into a lightly caramelized treat. Topped with brown sugar and a hint of crystallized ginger, the grapefruit is briefly broiled until bubbling and golden, creating a delicate contrast between bright citrus and warm sweetness. Perfect for breakfast or dessert, this recipe delivers big flavor with minimal prep and a touch of French-inspired flair.
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the broiler and adjust the oven rack so the grapefruit will sit approximately 4 inches below the heat source.
- Remove any seeds from the grapefruit. Using a grapefruit knife or small serrated knife, carefully cut around the outer edge of the fruit and between the segments, loosening the flesh without piercing the peel.
- Arrange the grapefruit halves cut-side up on a rimmed baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar and minced crystallized ginger over the top of each half.
- Broil for 4–6 minutes, until the tops are bubbling and lightly caramelized. Serve immediately.
